Get Help

You do not have to know exactly what to do next.

If you are a family member, caregiver, vulnerable youth, or someone worried about a child’s safety, this page is here to help you find a starting point.

If there is immediate danger, call 911 first.

Safe Horizons For Children is not an emergency response agency. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement or emergency services.

Families

If your child is missing or unreachable

Start by contacting local law enforcement, then gather names, dates, locations, screenshots, messages, photos, and any recent changes in behavior.

Youth

If you feel unsafe

You deserve help. If you can, contact a trusted adult, local authorities, a hotline, or a safe organization that can help you find protection.

Guidance

If you are not sure what you are seeing

Concerns do not have to be perfect to matter. If something feels wrong, write it down, preserve details, and seek guidance from proper channels.
